# Petra Labs vs Evertune: Managed AEO Service or Self-Serve GEO Platform?

In Petra Labs vs Evertune, the main difference is how you buy. Petra Labs sells custom AEO software together with a team that does the work, quoted as a retainer. Evertune sells a platform with published monthly plans and agents, and you operate it. Both build prompts from panel or clickstream-style data and both repeat prompts, so compare the evidence behind each.

This comparison uses the same checks for both vendors, taken from each vendor's own public pages read on October 22, 2026. It is a comparison of public specifications, not a performance benchmark, and [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) appears near the end with its own limits.

## Petra Labs vs Evertune: the short answer

- **Choose Petra Labs** if you want an outside team to plan and carry out AEO work, including content, earned media and attribution modelling, and your budget fits a retainer. Its Solutions page says engagements start at $15,000 a month.
- **Choose Evertune** if you want to run the work yourself on a platform with published self-serve prices, repeated sampling of each prompt and agents for content and ChatGPT ads.
- **On the labels:** Petra Labs says AEO, answer engine optimization. Evertune says GEO, generative engine optimization. Both labels describe the same work: earning mentions, citations and recommendations in AI answers.
- **On data:** both describe prompts built from real user behaviour. Petra Labs describes forum scraping and purchased clickstream or opt-in panel data. Evertune describes its own EverPanel. Each is the vendor's description, and neither can be verified from outside.
- **On what is not listed:** Petra Labs's public pages do not list a price per feature, a list of engines or a security certification. Ask for them in the demo.

## Who are Petra Labs and Evertune?

**Petra Labs** describes itself as a specialized provider of custom AEO software and services. Its pages say its team does the work of getting a brand mentioned in AI systems and that it is a high-touch provider working with a select set of clients. Its CEO and co-founder, Sami Akkawi, wrote its February 2026 platform and services overviews.

**Evertune** is a New York company founded by Brian Stempeck, Ed Chater and Poul Costinsky, early team members at the advertising technology company The Trade Desk. It announced a $15 million Series A led by Felicis in August 2025. Its product covers AI visibility tracking, prompt research from its EverPanel, a Content Agent, an Ads Agent for ChatGPT advertising, AI retargeting and Partner Connect for affiliate and ad networks. Our [Profound vs Evertune comparison](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/comparisons/profound-vs-evertune-ai-for-geo) covers Evertune against a third vendor.

## How do Petra Labs and Evertune compare on the same checks?

The table uses one check per row, taken from each vendor's public pages.

| Check | Petra Labs | Evertune |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Software plus a managed team | Platform plus agents |
| Entry price | From $15,000 per month | $60 per month, billed annually |
| Prompt source | Forum scraping, clickstream and panels | EverPanel |
| Repeat sampling | Repeats until results standardize | 100 samples per prompt on Pro |
| Engines | Not listed | 5 on Starter, 11 on Pro |
| Content work | Done by Petra's writers | Content Agent, 25 articles a month on Pro |
| Attribution | Custom marketing mix models | AI Usage, retargeting, Partner Connect |
| Security | Not listed | SSO and exports on Enterprise |

The rows are not equal in kind, because one vendor quotes a service and the other publishes a software price. A $15,000 retainer includes people, and a $60 plan does not. Do not read the price rows as a like-for-like cost comparison.

## How does each vendor build its prompt list?

**Petra Labs.** Its platform overview says engineers build custom scrapers that monitor forums where users discuss problems, such as Reddit and LinkedIn. It then uses natural language processing to filter, score and clean the data into prompts. It also says it sometimes buys clickstream data or opt-in panel data that records real AI search history. Its Solutions page adds that it starts with opt-in panel data from AI search engines and traditional search data from Google and SEO tools.

**Evertune.** Its methodology page says each prompt it measures comes from EverPanel, which it describes as a panel of over 150 million real conversations weighted to reflect the composition of the internet. It also says over 80% of AI questions are phrased uniquely, so it groups prompts by intent and topic.

Both approaches are modelled estimates of what buyers ask. Neither is a count of every question a buyer typed, and each depends on who is in the panel or the forum. In practice, check whether the prompt list contains the questions your own sales team hears, because a prompt list in another buyer's words measures another buyer's questions.

## How does each vendor measure the answers?

**Petra Labs.** Its platform has six modules: Visibility, Average Rank, Citations, Sentiment, Key Purchase Criteria and Insights. Visibility is the percentage of queries where you appear relative to competitors. It also describes capturing chain-of-thought data, meaning the searches a model ran and the sources it consulted before answering, including sources that never appear in the final response. It says it asks the prompts many times, at scale, until results standardize, because models are probabilistic.

**Evertune.** Its Pro plan lists statistical significance from day one, at 100 samples per prompt, across 11 models. Its methodology page argues that asking each prompt once gives a wide margin of error at topic level, and that repeated sampling narrows it. That example is Evertune's own analysis of running-shoe prompts, so treat it as the vendor's argument.

Repeating a prompt is a sound idea for both vendors, because an answer to the same question can differ between runs. What differs is the disclosure: Evertune states a number, 100 samples per prompt, and Petra Labs describes repetition until results standardize without a published count in the pages checked.

## Who does the work after the measurement?

**Petra Labs.** This is where the services model is most visible. Its services page lists owned media written by humans, earned media placements on independent editorial sites, social, marketplace optimization, technical AEO and regular reporting. It says it builds custom attribution models that tie AI search to pipeline and revenue.

**Evertune.** The Content Agent generates and optimizes content, with 25 articles a month on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise. The Ads Agent builds ChatGPT ad campaigns, priced as a percentage of media on its pricing page: 10% on Starter and 8% on Pro. Partner Connect exports prioritized source lists to partners, and AI Retargeting reaches buyers after an AI conversation.

In our judgement, the split follows the business model. A team that wants to hand the work over will find Petra Labs's scope closer to that, and a team that has writers and a media budget will find Evertune's tools closer to what it needs. That is an editorial reading of the public pages, not a measured outcome.

## What do Petra Labs and Evertune cost?

**Petra Labs.** Its Solutions FAQ says engagements start at $15,000 per month and that typical engagements run from $250,000 to $600,000 or more a year. It says scope depends on the number of brands or product lines, how competitive the queries are and how complex the attribution setup is.

**Evertune.** Starter is $60 a month billed annually, with 5,000 prompt credits and up to five models. Pro is $800 a month billed annually, with 100,000 credits and 11 models. Enterprise is custom. Prices on a pricing page can change, so confirm them before you buy.

The two units are different, a retainer for people and software credits for prompts, so the plans do not convert into each other. If a vendor offers a trial or a pilot, ask what it covers.

## How do you keep five measures separate?

AI visibility results often get blended into one score. Keep these apart in any evaluation.

1. **Mention.** The answer names your brand. Both vendors report visibility on this basis.
2. **Citation.** The answer links your site or a source about you. Petra Labs lists citations as a module, and Evertune includes source relevance scoring on Pro.
3. **Recommendation.** The answer suggests your brand over others. Neither vendor's pages list a metric that records an explicit recommendation, so read the answer text.
4. **Referral.** Someone clicks through. Petra Labs says most AI-referred traffic arrives without a tracking tag and builds an attribution layer for it, while Evertune offers bot analytics on Enterprise.
5. **Conversion.** The visit becomes a lead or sale. Ask each vendor what reaches your CRM.

## How should you run Petra Labs vs Evertune side by side?

Run the same test through each demo, with your own evidence.

1. **Write five buyer questions** from your sales calls, with the exact wording.
2. **Run them yourself first** on ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity and save every answer, so you have a baseline that belongs to you.
3. **Give both vendors the same list** and ask each to show the answers, the sources linked and how many times each prompt was run.
4. **Ask who does what.** For each recommended action, ask whether the vendor's team or yours will do it, and how long it takes.
5. **Ask what is not listed.** For Petra Labs, ask for the engine list and security details. For Evertune, ask what is included in your plan and what the credits cover.
6. **Compare after a fixed period.** Re-run the same five questions on a fixed date and read the answers yourself.

Google's [SEO Starter Guide](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/seo-starter-guide) advises creating content for the people who will use it, which is also a reasonable test for any page a vendor asks you to change. The guide is written for Google Search and does not describe how other engines handle these questions. A change counts as comparable only if the questions, engines, persona, market and method are sufficiently aligned between runs. Anything else is a different measurement. Our [AI visibility audit process](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/ai-visibility/how-to-run-an-ai-visibility-audit) walks through the baseline step.

## Who does each option fit?

| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wants the work done for them | Petra Labs | Writers, placements and attribution are in scope |
| Has a content team and wants software | Evertune | Self-serve plans and a Content Agent |
| Buys paid media in ChatGPT | Evertune | Ads Agent and retargeting |
| Needs revenue attribution modelling | Petra Labs | Custom marketing mix models |
| Wants a low entry price | Evertune | Starter at $60 a month, billed annually |

Neither fit is a ranking. A small team with no budget for a retainer will not choose Petra Labs, and a team with no time to operate software may not choose Evertune.

## Where does Prime AI fit?

[Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) is an [AI Visibility Platform](https://primeaivisibility.com/) built around saved answers, and it has a commercial relationship with Percepture. It records Brand named, Website cited, Source links and Explicit recommendation as separate facts for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview built from Google-grounded answers, and it exports saved reports as PDF or CSV. Its Content Studio produces researched, editable content drafts from tracked questions and captured answers, with optional images and export files, and nothing publishes without approval. It does not run a managed service or build attribution models, and it does not sample each prompt 100 times. The free Flash plan runs five questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, up to 15 answers, one check a month, and Starter at $69 a month adds Gemini and the AI Overview-style preview. The [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) [features](https://primeaivisibility.com/features) page shows the saved-answer evidence, and the [plan and credit table](https://primeaivisibility.com/pricing) shows current limits.

A free [AI visibility checker](https://primeaivisibility.com/) run on five buyer questions gives you the baseline to bring to either demo, and an [AI visibility tracker](https://primeaivisibility.com/) repeats it on a schedule. When you compare an [AI Search Visibility Platform](https://primeaivisibility.com/) or an [AI Brand Visibility Tool](https://primeaivisibility.com/), apply the same questions to each. The [buyer guide to choosing tools](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/ai-visibility/how-to-choose-an-ai-visibility-tool) lists what to ask each vendor, and the [AI visibility strategy](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/ai-visibility/ai-visibility-strategy) guide shows where a vendor choice fits.

## When is the next job implementation?

If the baseline shows gaps in pages, sources and listings, the work is closer to implementation than to measurement. Percepture's [AI visibility audit](https://percepture.com/geo-insights/ai-visibility-audit/) guide sets out how an audit scopes that work, and Percepture offers [generative engine optimization services](https://percepture.com/services/geo-services/) for hands-on changes. Percepture's guide to [AI search visibility metrics](https://percepture.com/geo-insights/ai-search-visibility-metrics-kpis/) is a related read on the measures above.

To see how a focused public site organises its pages, take Pulse Terminal, an investing research site. Its [homepage](https://pulseterminal.ai/) describes a framework for grading stocks and ETFs, and it has a dedicated [stocks page](https://pulseterminal.ai/stocks). This is an illustrative page-structure comparison, not a result for either vendor. A site with a named page for each subject gives a reader and an answer one place to look for each question, which is the same discipline a vendor's recommendations will ask of your pages.

## Frequently asked questions

**What is the main difference between Petra Labs and Evertune?**
Petra Labs sells custom AEO software together with a team that does the work, priced as a retainer. Evertune sells a platform with published monthly plans and agents that you operate yourself.

**How much do Petra Labs and Evertune cost?**
Petra Labs says engagements start at $15,000 a month, with typical engagements of $250,000 to $600,000 or more a year. Evertune lists Starter at $60 a month and Pro at $800 a month, both billed annually, with Enterprise custom. Confirm current prices with each vendor.

**Is Petra Labs a software tool or an agency?**
Its pages describe both. It says it provides custom AEO software and that its team does the work of getting a brand mentioned in AI systems, so the software and the service are sold together.

**Does Evertune repeat each prompt?**
Evertune says its Pro plan samples each prompt 100 times for statistical significance. Its Starter plan lists five models and does not list that sampling level.

**Can either vendor show why an AI answer named a competitor?**
Neither public page claims that. Both report what answers displayed, including sources linked, and the reasons you suspect are hypotheses to check against your own pages and a repeat run.

**Does [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) replace either vendor?**
No. It saves answers and records Brand named, Website cited, Source links and Explicit recommendation as separate facts. Its Content Studio drafts editable content for you to approve, but it does not run a managed service or build attribution models, so it can give you a baseline to bring to either vendor.
