# PromptSignal Brand Perception: What It Lists, How to Read It and How to Check It

PromptSignal brand perception refers to the sentiment, ranking position and description tracking that PromptSignal lists for how AI models talk about a brand. Its pages describe daily prompt runs across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, a Starter plan at $99 a month with 50 prompts, and a sales-led Enterprise plan. This guide covers what those pages state and how to check any perception score yourself.

This article reads PromptSignal's public pages in October 2026. No product was run for it, and statements about features are the vendor's own. [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) publishes this site and sells a competing product, so it appears in its own section and is not ranked against PromptSignal.

## PromptSignal brand perception: the short version

1. **What it is.** PromptSignal's home page says it monitors how leading AI models mention, rank and describe your brand, and lists brand visibility, competitor tracking, sentiment score, ranking position and prompt performance as its metrics.
2. **What it costs.** The pricing page lists Starter at $99 a month and Enterprise at a price on demand. No free trial is listed on the pages read.
3. **What the limits are.** Starter lists 50 prompts, daily updates and email support. Enterprise lists unlimited prompts, hourly updates and SSO with on-premise deployment.
4. **What to check.** A sentiment score summarises tone. It does not show whether a statement is true, so read the saved answers behind it.
5. **What it cannot show.** No score explains why an assistant described a brand a certain way.

## What does PromptSignal say it does?

The vendor's home page describes a platform for brand, product and growth teams. A team chooses prompts to track, the platform queries leading models daily, and the results are organised into a set of metrics. The page lists these:

| Metric on the page | What the page says it shows | What it does not say |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Brand Visibility | How often your brand appears in responses | How a mention is defined |
| Competitor Tracking | A benchmark against direct competitors | How competitors are chosen |
| Sentiment Score | The tone and perception behind each mention | How tone is scored |
| Ranking Position | Where your brand sits in AI-generated lists | How lists are detected |
| Prompt Performance | Which prompts you are winning or losing | What counts as a win |

The page also lists curated prompt suggestions, content briefs and drafts "engineered for answer engines", and technical recommendations. It states that the team is onboarding early users, and it offers a demo and a sign-up link. A separate vendor blog post, dated September 2025, describes sentiment as positive, negative or neutral, and recommends tracking sentiment trends over time rather than single responses.

## What does PromptSignal list for price, models and limits?

The pricing page names two plans.

| Plan | Price | What the page lists |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | $99 per month | Unlimited users, 50 prompts, daily updates, email support |
| Enterprise | Price on demand | Unlimited users, unlimited prompts, hourly updates, SSO and on-premise deployment |

Both plans list the same models on the pricing page: OpenAI, Gemini, Perplexity, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Mistral and Llama. The home page and blog name four assistants: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. These lists differ, so ask the vendor which interfaces or APIs are queried and how. The pages read do not list a free trial, a refund policy or a limit on stored history, so those fields are Not listed.

A prompt, a tracked question, is the plan's unit. Fifty prompts is a count of questions, not of answers, so the cost to cover several brands, markets and phrasings depends on how you write the set. Our guide to [prompt intent](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/ai-visibility/prompt-intent) shows one way to keep a small set balanced.

## What is brand perception in an AI answer?

Brand perception, in an AI answer, is what the answer says about a brand and how it says it: the attributes it names, the use cases it assigns, the tone it uses and the sources it links. It is a different thing from visibility. A brand can be named in every answer and still be described with an outdated feature, a wrong price or a lukewarm adjective.

Four parts are worth separating:

1. **Attributes.** The words used to describe the brand, such as "affordable" or "enterprise".
2. **Accuracy.** Whether each factual statement matches the brand's own pages.
3. **Framing.** Whether the brand is a first pick, one of a list or a warning.
4. **Sources.** Which pages the answer linked beside the statement.

A single sentiment score summarises tone, not factual accuracy, framing or source quality. That is useful for a trend line and weak for diagnosis, which is why a reviewer needs the saved answer beside the score.

Google's guidance on helpful content supports reading the page, not the score: it asks whether content is reliable and written for people first. It is guidance about pages, and it does not describe how an assistant scores a brand.

## How do you check a brand perception score?

A score is a summary of answers, so test it against answers you read yourself.

1. **Pick ten prompts** a customer might ask about your brand, and freeze the wording.
2. **Save the answers** from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity with the links each displayed.
3. **Label each answer by hand:** positive, neutral or negative in tone, and accurate, outdated or wrong in fact.
4. **Compare with the tool's output** for the same prompts and dates, and write down each disagreement.
5. **Ask the vendor in writing** how a mention, a ranking position and a sentiment label are defined, and which models and interfaces it queries.
6. **Repeat after a change.** Answers vary between runs, so one result proves little.

An invented example of the format follows. The rows are not results from a real run.

| Prompt type | Hand label | What to ask the vendor |
| --- | --- | --- |
| "Is Brand X worth it?" | Neutral tone, one outdated price | Does the score flag a wrong fact, or only tone? |
| "Best tools for Task Y" | Listed third, linked a rival list | How is a list position counted when a list is unordered? |
| "Brand X vs Brand Z" | Positive tone, a feature the brand dropped | Which source did the tool record for the claim? |

Keep five signals apart in every review: mention, citation, recommendation, referral and conversion. A sentiment score does not replace any of them. The [AI visibility KPIs](https://primeaivisibility.com/articles/measurement/ai-visibility-kpis) guide covers how to define each.

## What should you ask PromptSignal before you buy?

The public pages leave several decisions open, and a written answer to each one makes a later comparison fair.

1. **How is a mention defined?** A brand name inside a sentence, a link to the brand's site and a recommendation are different events.
2. **How is sentiment labelled?** Ask whether a person reviews it, which model produces it and whether you can see the sentence behind each label.
3. **How are rankings read from answers?** Many answers are prose, not numbered lists, so ask how a position is assigned.
4. **What is stored, and for how long?** Ask whether full answers and their links are retained and can be exported.
5. **What happens at 50 prompts?** Ask the price of the next step and whether it is the sales-led plan.

Keep the replies with your hand-labelled sheet. If the answers and the sheet disagree, the sheet is the evidence you collected and the score is a summary to question.

## Who is PromptSignal likely to suit?

This section is editorial judgement from the pages read, not a test.

- **A brand team that wants a tone trend.** Sentiment and ranking position are listed metrics, and daily updates are listed on Starter.
- **A team that wants content briefs beside monitoring.** The home page lists briefs and drafts for answer engines.
- **A larger program that needs SSO.** Enterprise lists SSO and on-premise deployment, with the price on demand.
- **A team that needs a documented method.** The pages read do not explain how sentiment, ranking position or mentions are scored, so a buyer who needs that should ask for it before committing.

## What does a niche example show about perception checks?

Pulse Terminal is a public market-research and investment application, and it sits in another field, so it works as an illustration of a vertical question set. Its [homepage](https://pulseterminal.ai/) presents the product and its [pricing page](https://pulseterminal.ai/pricing) describes its plans. A team in a field like that would check perception with questions in its own vocabulary, such as what a plan includes or how a research feature works, and would read each saved answer for outdated plan details. Pulse Terminal is an illustrative public website, not a [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) client or paid partner.

## Where does [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) fit?

[Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) is an [AI Search Visibility Platform](https://primeaivisibility.com/) built around saved answers. The free check runs up to five buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, keeps up to 15 answers with the links each displayed, and needs no card. It is one check a month. Starter is $69 a month and adds Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview. The [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/) [features](https://primeaivisibility.com/features) page describes captured answers, brand named, website cited, recommendation, multi-model tracking and Content Studio, and these are separate measures.

It has no sentiment score, no crawler or traffic reporting, no managed service, no auto-publishing and no prompt volumes. Perception work with it means reading the saved answers yourself against the four parts above, as an [AI visibility checker](https://primeaivisibility.com/) for a baseline and as an [AI visibility tracker](https://primeaivisibility.com/) for history. If you want an automated tone score, it does not provide one. This is a disclosed affiliated recommendation, not an independent ranking.

## When is implementation the next job?

If a perception check shows outdated or wrong statements, the work moves to your pages and the sources assistants link. Percepture, a company connected to [Prime AI Visibility](https://primeaivisibility.com/), covers [AI visibility tools](https://percepture.com/geo-insights/ai-visibility-tools/) and measurement, and its [generative engine optimization services](https://percepture.com/services/geo-services/) cover the implementation. It is a services firm, not a tracker.
