Otterly.AI vs Profound vs HubSpot AEO vs Mangools is a comparison of four different entry routes into AI-answer monitoring. Otterly.AI lists plans from $29 to $489 a month, Mangools lists $34.90 a month billed annually, HubSpot AEO lists $50 and Profound lists a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan. The allowances differ, so the prices are not like for like.

This article uses vendor pages read on October 24, 2026. No product was run for this comparison, and any claim about results, customers or ratings is the vendor's own. Prime AI Visibility publishes this site and competes with all four, so it appears in its own section and is judged on the same questions.

Otterly.AI vs Profound vs HubSpot AEO vs Mangools: the short answer

  1. Mangools is the smallest entry in scope. AI Search Watcher lists a free plan with 5 prompts and a paid Pro plan with 500 prompts, eight engines and every prompt checked twice, at $34.90 a month billed annually.
  2. HubSpot AEO fits teams already inside HubSpot. It lists $50 a month for 25 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and a higher bundle that connects AI data to CRM and campaign tools. It is marked Beta.
  3. Otterly.AI is the widest self-serve ladder. Its plans run from $29 to $489 a month, with extra engines sold as add-ons and a 7-day trial.
  4. Profound sells through a trial and a sales conversation. Its pricing page lists a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan, with no listed monthly price.
  5. None of the four is a baseline. The check that decides the purchase is five or more of your own questions, saved with the links each engine displayed.

How was this compared?

Facts come from each vendor's pricing and product pages. Where a page did not state a fact, the cell reads Not listed, and where a figure was ambiguous it reads Not verified. Prices are list prices in US dollars as displayed, and each cell names its billing term where the page does. Google's guidance on creating helpful content frames the standard: content should be written for people and be reliable, so a monitoring report is only useful if it points to a page improvement a reader would value.

What does each plan cost?

Product and plan Price What the page lists
Mangools Free $0 5 prompts, 1 monitor, weekly updates
Mangools Pro $34.90 a month, billed annually 500 prompts, unlimited monitors, $418.80 a year
HubSpot AEO $50 a month ($45 a month billed annually) 25 prompts, 3 engines, extra prompts sold as add-ons
HubSpot for Marketers $900 Marketing Hub and Content Hub tools with AEO included
Otterly.AI Lite $29 a month, monthly billing 15 prompts, 4 engines included
Otterly.AI Standard $189 a month, monthly billing 100 prompts, API and MCP access
Otterly.AI Premium $489 a month, monthly billing 400 prompts, 4 engines included
Profound Trial Free 50 prompts daily for 7 days
Profound Enterprise Custom Tailored prompts, up to 9 engines, SSO and SOC 2

Mangools' Pro price is $418.80 a year, which equals $34.90 a month billed annually. Otterly.AI lists a lower annual rate on each plan and a 7-day trial with 50 prompts and no card, per its help centre. Otterly.AI sells Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as paid add-ons. HubSpot's pricing table lists a base allowance of 25 prompts each run daily across three engines, equal to 2,500 answers a month, and sells a limit increase for more. Each vendor measures usage in its own unit, so a price per prompt across vendors is not computed here.

Which engines does each list?

Product Engines listed Where
Mangools Free and Pro ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral, Llama Product page
HubSpot AEO ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity AEO page
Otterly.AI ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot; add-ons for AI Mode, Gemini, Claude Pricing page
Profound Trial ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews Pricing page
Profound Enterprise Up to 9, including Perplexity, AI Mode, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude and Exa Search Pricing page

Engine coverage varies more than price does. HubSpot lists three and does not list Claude or Google's AI Overviews. Mangools lists eight on its free plan, but with five prompts. Profound's trial lists three, and nine need a sales conversation. If a particular engine matters to your buyers, find its row before reading a price.

How do they count and collect?

Product Unit of use How answers are described
Mangools Prompts, each checked 2× Weekly monitor updates; averages, positions, citations
HubSpot AEO Prompts and answers a month Daily runs across 3 engines; collection method Not verified
Otterly.AI Prompts Daily; public interfaces, API for Claude
Profound Prompts per day Daily; 7 days on trial

Frequency is a real difference. Mangools lists weekly updates on every plan, while HubSpot, Otterly.AI and Profound list daily runs. Mangools explains its double check: it says AI answers change between runs, so each prompt runs twice on every update. That is a method, not proof of accuracy, so test it. An invented example: if an answer names your brand on one run and not the next, a single weekly check could record either result as the truth.

What does each add beyond tracking?

HubSpot AEO lists recommendations, sentiment analysis, competitor share of voice and citation analysis, and a higher bundle where recommendations can become blog drafts in the same platform. Its page also says prompts are suggested from your CRM data. HubSpot reports its own lead growth from AI as a first-party claim; treat it as the vendor's own result, not a prediction for your account.

Profound describes an AI Marketer with agents, a context manager, Agent Analytics for AI-sourced traffic, and prompt volumes with five searches on the trial. Its page lists exports, history and API access only on Enterprise.

Otterly.AI lists audits, crawlability checks and recommendations on every plan, and agent analytics from Standard.

Mangools lists prompt suggestions, competitor comparison, a description of how models talk about your brand, and API and MCP access, and it bundles with its SEO tools at a discount.

In each product, a recommendation is the vendor's suggestion. Whether a change earns a citation can only be seen in later saved answers.

Which signals does each report?

Keep five signals separate whichever product you use:

  1. Mention. An answer names the brand.
  2. Citation. An answer links a page.
  3. Recommendation. An answer suggests the brand as a choice.
  4. Referral. A visit arrives from an answer.
  5. Conversion. The visit becomes a lead or sale.

All four describe mentions and citations. Profound lists Agent Analytics for AI-sourced traffic attribution, and HubSpot describes connecting AI data to campaign metrics for referral and conversion in its own platform. The pages read did not state how Mangools handles referral or conversion. The first two signals are what the engine displayed, and the last two are what your own analytics show.

Which one fits which team?

Mangools fits SEO users who already pay for Mangools tools and want a low-cost way to watch a few hundred prompts. Limit: weekly updates, no daily runs, and the page lists no content-writing tools.

HubSpot AEO fits teams that already use HubSpot and want AI visibility next to campaign data. Limit: three engines and a Beta label, and the larger bundle is $900.

Otterly.AI fits teams that want published prices, a trial and a step-by-step ladder of prompts and engines. Limit: add-ons raise the cost when you need Gemini, Claude or AI Mode.

Profound fits larger teams that want agents, traffic attribution and nine engines, and are ready for a sales conversation. Limit: no listed monthly price, and exports, history and API access need Enterprise.

In our judgement, the real split is where the work already lives. If your team's reports live in HubSpot, a tool outside it adds a reconciliation step. If you manage keywords in Mangools, its watcher sits beside them. These are editorial judgements, not measured outcomes.

How should you run a fair test of all four?

  1. Write 20 buyer questions and freeze the wording outside every tool.
  2. Save a manual baseline: answers from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity with the links each displayed.
  3. Use the common engines. ChatGPT is listed by all four, so start there.
  4. Load the same questions into each free tier or trial: Mangools Free (5 prompts), HubSpot's free trial (length Not listed), Otterly.AI's 7-day trial and Profound's 7-day trial. Use the same five questions for all four, since Mangools Free stops at five.
  5. Compare per question. Note whether each tool shows the same mention and citation as your baseline.
  6. Record what you hit first: prompt limits, an engine you need, update frequency or a feature behind a sales call.
  7. Ask each vendor how a response is counted and how answers are collected.

What can a vertical show about question sets?

My Military Savings is a public site in another field, so it works as an illustration. Its homepage describes weekly Commissary coupons, a digital circular and a monthly gift-card giveaway for military households, and its coupons page lists product offers by brand. A retail category like that raises questions a crawl or a keyword list rarely covers, such as "which brands have coupons at the Commissary this month" (invented). An engine's answer could name the site, its brands or a competing coupon page, and only a saved answer shows which. You would examine category titles and the brands each answer cites. This is an illustrative public website, not a Prime AI client, endorsement or paid relationship, and it carries no AI-search outcome.

Where does Prime AI Visibility fit?

Prime AI Visibility is an AI Search Visibility Platform built around saved answers. The free check runs up to five buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, keeps up to 15 answers with the links each displayed, and needs no card. It is one check a month. Starter is $69 a month and adds Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview. It reports brand named and website cited as separate counts. It has no sentiment, crawler or traffic reporting, no managed service and no auto-publishing.

Use it as an AI visibility checker for the baseline before you trial the four above, then as an AI visibility tracker if a smaller question set is enough. The features page lists what it reports. This is a disclosed affiliated recommendation, not an independent ranking.

For the process, read the AI visibility audit guide, the AI visibility strategy guide and the guide to choosing a tool. For a two-vendor view, see Profound vs Otterly AI.

When is implementation the next job?

If a test shows pages answers skip or misstate, the work moves to content, sources and structure. Percepture, a company connected to Prime AI Visibility, covers AI visibility tools and measurement. Its generative engine optimization services cover the implementation. It is a services firm, not a tracker.
