Profound vs Peec AI at SKU Level: Which One Tracks Individual Products?

Searching "profound vs peec ai visibility tracking sku level" is asking one question: which product tracks single products, not just a brand? Peec AI documents catalog upload, per-product Visibility, Position and Win rate, and lists SKU-level tracking on its pricing page. Profound documents ChatGPT Shopping product reports, but lists the feature on Enterprise only. Both cover ChatGPT's shopping experience, not every engine.

This comparison uses each vendor's public pages and documentation as they read on October 24, 2026. It is not a hands-on test, and no product was run. Prime AI Visibility publishes this site, sells no product-level tracking and is disclosed as affiliated wherever it appears.

Profound vs Peec AI visibility tracking SKU level: the short answer

  1. Peec AI is the more documented route to SKU-level views. Its docs describe a catalog (fetched from Shopify or uploaded as a CSV), a Products table and a product detail page.
  2. Profound documents product reports through its API and platform. Its reports return each product by name and brand, with position, rating, review counts and merchant prices, and its pricing page lists ChatGPT Shopping on Enterprise only.
  3. Both are ChatGPT-only for shopping. Peec says other models "may follow". Profound's API notes say shopping data comes from ChatGPT only.
  4. Neither makes a SKU a controlled test. What gets tracked depends on the prompts you set, so a catalog is only as informative as its prompt set.
  5. Brand-level baselines still come first. A product view shows how ChatGPT's shopping carousel treats an item. It does not show whether your brand is named in other engines.

How was this compared?

Every cell below comes from a vendor page: Peec AI's pricing page and its documentation on AI Shopping, Products and shopping prompts, and Profound's pricing page, ChatGPT Shopping launch post and API documentation for shopping reports. A cell reads Not verified where the pages did not say. Quality claims are the vendors' own. The Google guidance on helpful content frames how to read them: it asks whether content or a tool's output is created for people first, so a product report is evidence for decisions, not a goal in itself.

What does each product track at product level?

Question Peec AI Profound
Source of product list Shopify fetch, or CSV (own or Google Merchant Center) Products returned as name and brand
Engines ChatGPT today; others "may follow" ChatGPT only
Where the data comes from The chats Peec already tracks Shopping results from tracked prompts

Peec AI's documentation says AI Shopping "works at the product level". You upload a catalog, and Peec matches your products to your tracked conversations. A category prompt such as "best running shoes for beginners" tracks every matching product in the catalog at once, so you do not need one prompt per product. Its docs describe the feature for brands that sell their own products and say multi-brand retailers and marketplaces need a different approach.

Profound's launch post, dated April 29, 2025, describes a ChatGPT Shopping view covering shopping visibility, product analysis, prompt analysis and shopping triggers. Its API documentation lists reports for brands, products, merchants and trigger rate. The product report returns each product as a name and brand pair. Profound's pages that were read do not describe a catalog upload.

Which metrics does each report?

Metric Peec AI Profound
Visibility Share of chats mentioning the product Visibility score and rank
Rank Position and win rate (share of chats where it is first) Average position and the share of appearances at positions 1, 2, 3 and below
Price Catalog price versus the price the AI cites Merchant offers with prices, on request in the API
Other Competing products, shopping queries, fanout queries, attributes Rating, review count, competitor mode, trigger rate

Peec AI's mentioned-price field is useful for one specific problem: comparing your catalog price with the price an assistant quotes shows whether answers state you higher, lower or correctly. Its attributes view captures the attributes ChatGPT uses when it builds a comparison table, which suggests which product-page details to check. Its docs advise reading win rate alongside visibility, since a product can appear often and never be first.

Profound's reports split position into how often a product sits first, second, third or lower, and add rating and review count to each product. Its competitor mode returns one product with its top competitors, five by default. The docs say these are fractions between 0 and 1, not percentages, which matters if you export them into a sheet.

What does it cost, and who can use it?

Item Peec AI Profound
Published plans Starter $95, Pro $245, Advanced $495 a month; Enterprise custom Trial (free), Enterprise (custom)
Shopping access Listed in the pricing table; plan-by-plan access Not verified ChatGPT Shopping: No on Trial, Yes on Enterprise
API Enterprise, in beta Documented reports; API shown as None on Trial

Peec AI's three self-serve plans are $95 a month for 50 prompts, $245 for 150 and $495 for 350, each tracking a choice of three models with unlimited users and daily tracking. The pricing page lists AI Shopping rows, including catalog upload and SKU-level tracking, but the page text does not show which plan includes them, so that cell is Not verified. Confirm it on the page before buying.

Profound's pricing page offers a free Trial that runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It lists ChatGPT Shopping as No on the Trial and Yes on Enterprise, and Enterprise has no published price. A team that wants to see a product report before talking to sales cannot do it on the Trial.

How should you read Visibility and Win rate? A worked example

The numbers below are invented to show the arithmetic. They are not results from either product.

Suppose a prompt set produces 40 ChatGPT shopping chats for the "beginner running shoes" category. A shoe appears in 12 of them and is the first recommendation in 3.

Measure Calculation Result
Visibility 12 of 40 chats 30%
Win rate 3 of 40 chats 7.5%
Conditional win rate 3 of 12 appearances 25%

The third row is a derived figure, not a field either vendor documents, and it separates two problems. A shoe with 30% visibility and a 25% conditional win rate is found often and usually beaten. One with 5% visibility and a 75% conditional win rate is rarely found but strong when it is. The fixes differ: the first needs better comparison attributes, the second needs more coverage.

What does a SKU test look like?

Without inventing results, a fair comparison takes a trial week per product.

  1. Pick 10 SKUs. Use five best sellers and five that you think should rank better.
  2. Write one category prompt each, plus a product prompt for the five best sellers. Peec's docs recommend mostly non-branded discovery prompts with a smaller set of branded ones.
  3. Save the catalog data you will compare: exact title, price and key attributes.
  4. Run the same prompts in each product and export or record Visibility, Position and the cited price.
  5. Check 10 answers by hand in ChatGPT and mark each product as shown, first or absent.
  6. Compare whether the product's numbers match what you saw, and record the match rate per product.
  7. Record the price gap between your catalog and the price quoted.

A product that matches your hand check is usable for reporting. One that does not is a lead to investigate, not a number to present.

Where is each stronger, and what are the limits?

Peec AI is stronger on documentation and self-serve access to a catalog view. Its limits: ChatGPT only for shopping, a stated focus on single-brand sellers, and plan-by-plan access that the page text does not show.

Profound is stronger when product data belongs with enterprise reporting. Its shopping reports sit beside crawler and referral analytics and sales-led support. Its limits: Enterprise-only access, no published price, no described catalog upload, and a launch post that is more than a year old, so the current interface may differ.

In our judgement, a team with a defined catalog and a modest budget should start from Peec AI's documentation and check plan access. A team already evaluating Profound for enterprise reporting should ask for a shopping demonstration with its own products. Both judgements are editorial, not measured.

What do neither product's pages say about other engines?

Neither vendor documents product-level tracking outside ChatGPT. That does not mean other engines never recommend products. It means the product views read for this comparison do not cover them. Keep the signals separate:

  1. Mention. An answer names the product or brand.
  2. Citation. An answer links a page.
  3. Recommendation. An answer puts the product forward as a choice.
  4. Referral. A visit arrives from an answer.
  5. Conversion. The visit becomes a sale.

A product report speaks to the first three inside one engine's shopping view. Referral and conversion come from your own analytics.

What can a different field teach about item-level questions?

Pulse Terminal is a public site in another field, so it works as a neutral illustration. Its homepage describes a terminal that grades 3,000+ stocks and ETFs individually, and its stocks page shows the same product screen. The idea carries over: a catalog of individual items needs item-level questions, not one brand-level question. This is an illustrative public website, not a Prime AI client, endorsement or paid relationship, and it says nothing about AI search outcomes.

Where does Prime AI Visibility fit?

Prime AI Visibility does not track products or catalogs, so it is not a SKU-level alternative. It is an AI Search Visibility Platform for the brand-level question that comes first. The free check runs up to five buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, keeps up to 15 saved answers with the links each displayed, and needs no card. It is one check a month. Starter is $69 a month and adds Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview. There is no sentiment, crawler or traffic reporting and no managed service.

As an AI visibility checker, the free check shows whether your brand is named when shoppers ask category questions. Rechecking the same questions with an AI visibility tracker tells you whether the brand-level answer moved before you pay for product-level detail. Judge any AI Brand Visibility Tool the same way, and read the features page for the exact measures. This is an affiliated recommendation.

When is implementation the next job?

If the SKU test shows catalog titles, attributes or feeds that answers misread, the work is content and data, not more reporting. Percepture, a company connected to Prime AI Visibility, covers AI visibility tools and the measurement that precedes a fix. Its generative engine optimization services cover the product-page and feed work. It is a services firm, not a tracker.
