Wisewand vs ChatGPT: What Each Does for AI Search Content, and What Neither Measures

Wisewand vs ChatGPT is a choice between a specialised SEO article generator and a general assistant. Wisewand builds, scores and publishes articles to WordPress or Shopify and sells them by credit. ChatGPT drafts almost anything for a flat monthly fee but has no publishing or scoring workflow on its pricing page. Neither says whether AI answers then name or link your page.
This guide compares both on public vendor pages read on October 24, 2026. Prime AI Visibility publishes this site, sells neither product and is marked as affiliated wherever it appears.
Wisewand vs ChatGPT: the short answer
- Pick Wisewand when you publish at volume. Its pages describe SERP analysis, an SEO score, internal linking and direct publishing, which suit blogs, affiliate sites and online stores.
- Pick ChatGPT when the work is varied. One plan covers drafting, editing, research, outlines and tasks well beyond articles, at a lower entry price.
- Compare cost per finished page, not per month. Wisewand charges per article credit. ChatGPT charges per person, and the editing time is yours.
- Treat "built for AI answers" as a claim. Wisewand describes GEO features. A structure that is easy to quote does not show that any engine quoted it.
- Measure the published page. Neither product's pages list a report of whether your brand was named or linked in AI answers, so that check stays separate.
How was this comparison built?
Every cell comes from the vendor's own public page, read on October 24, 2026: Wisewand's home and product pages and ChatGPT's pricing page. A cell reads Not verified or Not listed when the page did not state it. Prices are list prices in US dollars unless the page states another currency. Quality claims such as "articles that rank" and "does not invent" are Wisewand's own words and are attributed as such.
The comparison records what vendors say about themselves. It contains no test results, scores or rank, and no draft from either product was assessed. Google's guidance on helpful content asks whether content is made for people first and warns against using extensive automation to produce content on many topics. That is the standard to apply to any output from either product.
Who is each product for?
| Question | Wisewand | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Website publishers, SEOs and agencies | Individuals, teams and enterprises |
| Main job | Generate and publish SEO and GEO articles | General conversation, writing, research and tasks |
| Content types | Blog, affiliate, e-commerce, Discover | Anything you prompt for |
Wisewand's home page says more than 2,300 website publishers, SEOs and agencies use it, which is the vendor's own figure. It lists blog articles, affiliate comparisons and reviews, e-commerce and Shopify pages, and short Google Discover articles. Content refresh and local SEO modes are marked as coming soon on the page, so they are not counted here.
ChatGPT's pricing page lists individual plans (Free, Go, Plus and Pro) and a separate business and enterprise tab. Its plan descriptions center on chat, uploads, image and voice features, deep research, memory, projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs.
What does each plan cost?
| Product and plan | Price as listed | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Wisewand Starter | $49 a month | 23 credits, up to 23 articles |
| Wisewand Pro | $209 a month | 120 credits |
| Wisewand Ultra | $527 a month | 406 credits |
| Wisewand Max | $1,057 a month | 1,140 credits |
| ChatGPT Free | $0 | Limited uploads, image creation and research |
| ChatGPT Go | $8 a month | More of the Free features; may include ads |
| ChatGPT Plus | $20 a month | Expanded research, projects, tasks, custom GPTs |
| ChatGPT Pro | From $100 a month | Larger limits and three usage tiers |
Wisewand also lists annual billing at lower per-credit prices, prepaid credit packs starting at $56 for 19 articles, and a separate Autopilot plan at €77 a month per site, with a 3-day trial for €1. Its page says credits renew monthly and plans can be cancelled at any time.
Dividing the monthly price by the credits gives Wisewand's listed per-credit prices: $2.14 on Starter down to $0.93 on Max. That is a price per article credit, not the full cost of a page, because review and editing time are not in it. ChatGPT has no per-article price. A plan costs the same whether you draft ten pages or none.
What does each do for SEO and AI search?
| Feature | Wisewand | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|
| SERP analysis | Analyses top-ranking pages | Not listed on the pricing page |
| SEO score | Score and suggestions per piece | Not listed |
| Internal linking | Included | Not listed |
| GEO structure | Answer-first sections, Q&A, Schema.org markup | Not listed |
Wisewand's page describes its GEO feature as structuring articles to be picked up in answers from ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and Perplexity. It lists an answer at the top of each section, a question-and-answer structure and Schema.org structured data. Those are descriptions of how the article is built. They do not show that an engine used a page built this way, and no engine publishes a rule that would guarantee it.
Wisewand says its research feature "does not invent" and builds on sourced data. That is the vendor's claim, and this guide has not tested it. A sourced statistic is only useful if you open the source and confirm it says what the draft says.
ChatGPT's pricing page lists none of these SEO features. That does not mean a user cannot ask for them in a prompt. It means the product does not ship a score, a SERP analysis or a publishing step that you can rely on without building the workflow yourself.
How do publishing and automation compare?
| Workflow step | Wisewand | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|
| Outline | Generated in both modes | You prompt for it |
| Publish | WordPress and Shopify, plus webhook | Not listed |
| Automation | API, MCP server, n8n, Make | Scheduled tasks on Plus and above |
Wisewand offers a Manual mode, where you launch each piece, and an Autopilot mode that plans and publishes on its own. Autopilot is the faster route and the riskier one. Google's guidance lists extensive automation across many topics among its warning signs, so an automated stream of articles should still pass a human check for accuracy and for whether it serves your existing audience.
ChatGPT's scheduled tasks and projects are general features. They can run a prompt on a schedule, and a person still decides what is edited and published.
Where do both fall short for AI visibility?
Content creation and visibility measurement are different jobs. Keep these separate in your own records:
- Content produced. A draft or published page, from either product or from a person.
- Mention. An AI answer names your brand.
- Citation. An AI answer links to your page.
- Recommendation. An AI answer clearly suggests your brand for the situation in the question.
- Referral and conversion. These come from your own analytics, not from the answer.
Neither vendor page lists a report on items 2 to 4. A page can be well structured and never appear, and an unpolished page can be linked often. The only way to know is to ask the engines your buyers' questions and keep the saved answers. The Prime AI Visibility features page describes that separation for the measures Prime AI Visibility does report: Brand named, Website cited, an explicit recommendation and multi-model tracking.
How do you test a draft from each product?
Without inventing results, a fair side-by-side takes about an hour.
- Write one brief with the audience, the question the page answers, the three facts it must contain and the sources you trust. Freeze it.
- Give the same brief to both products and save each draft untouched.
- Check every fact. Open each cited source and mark each claim as confirmed, wrong or unsourced.
- Read for first-hand value. Mark any paragraph that only summarises other pages without adding your own knowledge.
- Time the editing. Record how long each draft takes to reach a version you would publish under your name.
- Compare cost per finished page. Add the credit or plan cost to the editing time.
An invented example shows the scoring. For a brief about "how to choose a payroll provider for a ten-person firm", Draft A confirms 6 of 8 claims and Draft B confirms 4 of 8. The numbers are made up. The method is the point: count confirmed claims and editing minutes, not how polished the prose looks.
What should you do after you publish?
Start with the questions, not the drafts. The AI visibility audit process and the AI visibility strategy guide turn saved answers into an order of work, and the buyer guide to choosing tools lists fixed criteria for the buying decision. For the data side of choosing questions, see what prompt volume means in AI visibility products.
For hands-on implementation, Percepture, a company connected to Prime AI Visibility, covers AI visibility tools and the content and measurement work that follows. Its generative engine optimization services are the hands-on route. It is a services firm, not a tracker, so it pairs with one.
What can a focused public application teach about question sets?
Pulse Terminal is a public site in a different field, so it works as a neutral example. Its homepage describes a market terminal that grades stocks and ETFs and answers questions with its sources shown under the answer, and its stocks page shows the same product screen.
This is an illustrative public website, not a Prime AI client, endorsement or paid relationship, and it says nothing about how any AI engine treats it. The lesson is about vertical question sets. A focused product can write its tracking questions around the decisions its users make, such as how a stock is graded or why a score changed, then compare saved answers question by question, whichever content tool produced the pages.
Where does Prime AI Visibility fit?
Prime AI Visibility is an AI Search Visibility Platform built around saved answers, and it does not write or publish articles. The free check runs up to five buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, saves up to 15 answers with the links each one displayed and needs no card. It is one check a month, so it is a baseline. Starter is $69 a month and adds Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview. It does not report sentiment, crawler visits or traffic, and it has no managed service.
Used as an AI visibility checker, the free check shows whether a page you published with either product appears in answers to your questions. As an AI visibility tracker, it keeps the same questions for rechecks. A team comparing any AI Visibility Platform with a writing tool should keep the roles apart, and any AI Brand Visibility Tool should be judged on whether its records hold up when you reread them. Because Prime AI Visibility is the publisher, treat this section as an affiliated recommendation.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Wisewand and ChatGPT?
Wisewand is a specialised tool that generates, scores and publishes SEO and GEO articles, billed by credit. ChatGPT is a general assistant billed per plan, with no article scoring or publishing step listed on its pricing page.
Is Wisewand cheaper than ChatGPT?
Not on list price. Wisewand starts at $49 a month for 23 credits, and ChatGPT Plus is $20 a month. The fair comparison is cost per finished page, including the time you spend editing and checking facts.
Does Wisewand guarantee citations in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?
No. Wisewand describes a structure meant to be picked up in AI answers, and no vendor or engine can promise a citation. Check the answers yourself.
Can I just use ChatGPT for SEO articles?
Yes, you can draft with it, and you supply the SEO research, internal links, scoring and publishing. Review every draft for accuracy and for value to your readers.
Does either tool track whether AI engines mention my brand?
Neither vendor page lists that. Tracking mentions, citations and recommendations is a separate job from writing the content.
How often do these plans change?
Often. Treat every figure here as a reading from October 24, 2026 and confirm current terms on the vendor page before buying.
