If you searched "profound actions ai visibility products company", here is the summary. Profound is a New York company, founded in August 2024, that sells an AI visibility and marketing platform to enterprise brands and agencies. Its products track how answer engines describe a brand, show what people ask AI assistants, and measure AI crawler and referral traffic. Profound Actions, launched in July 2025 as AI-informed content briefs, has since been folded into Profound Agents and an orchestrating agent called AI Marketer, also known as Aim.

This review uses Profound's own product pages, pricing page, blog, changelog and press releases as they read on October 15, 2026, plus independent news coverage of its funding. It is a comparison of public specifications, not a hands-on test. Where we add professional judgement, we say so. Prime AI Visibility publishes this site and is evaluated on the same criteria, with its own limitations.

Profound actions AI visibility products company: the short answer

  • The company: Profound's legal name is Cooper Square Technologies, Inc. It was co-founded by James Cadwallader (CEO) and Dylan Babbs (CTO) and is headquartered in New York City.
  • Funding: a $96 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation in February 2026, then a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation on September 15, 2026, co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins.
  • Measurement products: Answer Engine Insights for visibility, citations and sentiment; Prompt Volumes for real user prompts; Agent Analytics for AI crawlers and AI-referred traffic; and Shopping Analysis.
  • Execution products: Profound Actions (2025 content briefs), now Profound Agents (renamed from Workflows in February 2026) and AI Marketer, launched as Aim in July 2026.
  • Plans: a free trial (50 prompts run daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and custom-priced Enterprise packages. No self-serve price is published.
  • Our judgement: Profound fits enterprise teams and large agencies that want measurement and agent-driven content work in one platform and can buy through a sales process. It is a weaker fit for teams that need a published price or a long, low-cost trial.

Who Profound is

Profound's AI-instructions page, which it publishes as the canonical description for AI assistants, says the company was founded in August 2024 by James Cadwallader and Dylan Babbs, who met at South Park Commons. It lists offices in San Francisco, Boston, London and Buenos Aires, as well as New York.

Profound's September 15, 2026 Series D press release says the company "now serves over 1,000 enterprise brands", with named customers including Comcast, The Estée Lauder Companies, Walmart, Zoom, ServiceNow, Ramp, MongoDB and Figma. The New York Business Journal reported the same $1.8 billion valuation and noted that the round came less than seven months after the Series C. Customer counts and logos are the company's own figures.

The same release describes the company's direction in its CEO's words: Profound "started as an analytics platform for marketers", and customers now use its Agents "to research, write, and report". That shift explains why searches for Profound Actions now lead to a different set of products.

Profound's measurement products

These are the products that answer "what do AI answers say about us?" Each description below comes from Profound's own pages.

Answer Engine Insights. Tracks how answer engines mention, rank and describe a brand, with share of voice, citation sources, sentiment and competitor comparison. Profound says it captures responses "directly from the consumer browsing experience rather than from model APIs". On the Enterprise plan, the pricing page lists capability for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search, with up to nine engines tracked.

Prompt Volumes and Conversation Explorer. A dataset Profound describes as hundreds of millions of real, consented user conversations, updated weekly, with intent, trends and breakdowns by region and demographics. The trial includes five Prompt Volumes searches.

Agent Analytics. Monitors AI crawler activity and AI-referred traffic at the infrastructure level, with integrations for Akamai, AWS, Cloudflare, Fastly, Google Analytics, Google Cloud Platform, Netlify, Vercel and WordPress. Profound's AI-instructions page says it shows "the traffic and conversions referred from AI Search".

Shopping Analysis. Shows how products surface in AI shopping conversations, including images, placement and attributes. The pricing page lists ChatGPT Shopping on Enterprise only.

Agency Mode. Announced in October 2025 as a private beta, Agency Mode lets agencies create pitch audits that expire and full brand environments, each running independently, from one account.

Profound Actions, and what replaced it

Profound announced Profound Actions on July 10, 2025. The launch post said Actions combined three data streams (AI search responses and citations, real user prompts, and AI traffic) to find content opportunities, and that Profound did not generate content itself. Instead it produced content briefs with recommended topics, heading structures, secondary keywords, the stats and facts AI was already citing, and tone guidance. The post said Actions was available on all plans and would "soon include" more content types, CMS publishing, experimentation tools and content-level monitoring.

Since then, Profound's execution layer has been renamed and expanded:

  • Agents (February 2026). Profound's changelog announced that "Workflows are now Agents", with Profound data nodes, CMS nodes for WordPress and Sanity, a Slack node and version control. The Agents page lists templates for content refresh, AEO FAQ generation, competitive research and net-new content, with a human approval step before anything publishes.
  • Aim (July 2026). A press release launched Aim as "an always-on background agent" that turns opportunities into Projects with briefs and routes work to Agents, with marketers approving each step.
  • AI Marketer (September 2026). The Series D release describes AI Marketer as "an Agent orchestrator" powered by a Context Manager that distills knowledge-base files, meeting transcripts and communication threads. Profound's own comparison articles call it "AI Marketer (Aim)".

On October 15, 2026, Profound's pricing page and its AI-instructions product list did not name Actions. The brief-writing job Actions started now sits inside AI Marketer, Agents and a Content Optimization product that gives recommendations on live URLs and drafts.

In our judgement, the practical change for buyers is scope. Actions produced briefs for your writers. AI Marketer and Agents now draft content, stage CMS changes and run social, PR and paid-search work, so reviewing their output becomes part of the evaluation.

Profound plans and limits

Profound's pricing page, read on October 15, 2026, lists two plans for brands and the same two on its agency tab.

Item Trial Enterprise
Price Free Custom
Prompts 50 Custom
Frequency Daily, 7 days Daily
Engines 3 Up to 9
History None All time
Exports None CSV, JSON
API None Yes
Seats Unlimited Unlimited

The trial's three engines are ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It includes limited AI Marketer credits, Agents, Context Manager and Profound Sheets, and one language and one region. Enterprise adds custom AI Marketer credits, unlimited opportunities, Projects, ChatGPT Shopping, SSO and support options up to a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA. The page does not publish Enterprise prices or credit costs.

Profound's products against the five AI visibility signals

This is the original analysis in this review. Buyers often treat an AI visibility platform as one score. Mapping each Profound product to the five signals shows which ones it measures directly and which need another source.

  1. Mention (the answer names the brand): Answer Engine Insights, through visibility and share of voice.
  2. Citation (the answer links the brand's site or a source about it): Answer Engine Insights citation sources.
  3. Recommendation (the answer suggests the brand over others): Profound reports rank and sentiment. Its public pages do not list a metric that records an explicit recommendation, so read the answer text.
  4. Referral (someone clicks through): Agent Analytics, through AI-referred traffic and integrations with CDNs and Google Analytics.
  5. Conversion (the visit becomes a lead or sale): Agent Analytics, which Profound says shows conversions referred from AI Search, and an Agents node that pulls GA4 conversions and revenue.

In our judgement, the referral and conversion coverage is where Profound differs most from trackers that stop at the answer. The caveat is the trial: with no history or exports, a seven-day trial cannot show month-over-month movement on any of the five. For background on why the signals move independently, see what AI search visibility means and how to build an AI visibility strategy around fixed buyer questions.

A 7-day plan for the Profound trial

The trial runs 50 prompts daily for seven days on three engines, with no history or exports. Plan it before you start.

  • Day 1: load 30 to 50 prompts real buyers ask, grouped by product and persona. Keep a copy of the exact prompt text outside the platform.
  • Day 2: open five answers in Answer Engine Insights. Check that you can read the full response and the exact cited URLs, and save screenshots, because the trial cannot export.
  • Day 3: pick one prompt where several brands are named and check how rank was assigned. Do the same for a paragraph answer with no list.
  • Day 4: run your five Prompt Volumes searches on your most important topics and note which prompts you had not thought of.
  • Day 5: use the AI Marketer credits on one task you would normally brief to a writer, and review the output against your brand and claims rules.
  • Day 6: compare the same prompts across days and note which changes repeat.
  • Day 7: ask sales five questions: Enterprise price and credit costs, which engines your contract includes, whether Agency Mode is available, how history carries over from the trial, and what the API exposes.

Run the same five questions through a free AI visibility checker during the same week and compare the saved answers.

Profound and Prime AI Visibility on the same checks

The table below uses the same check for both products in each row, from each company's public pages on October 15, 2026.

Check Profound Prime AI Visibility
Entry price Quote $69/month
Free option 7-day trial Flash, monthly
Engines Up to 9 All five
Cadence Daily Monthly, weekly
Sentiment Yes No
Recommends Not listed Yes
Traffic data Yes No
Content Agents Content Studio
API Enterprise Not listed

Notes: Prime AI Visibility's five tools are ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview built from Google-grounded answers, not a capture of the live AI Overview panel. Flash covers ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity only. "Recommends" means a metric that records whether an answer explicitly recommends the brand. Prime AI Visibility checks monthly by default, with weekly, temporary daily and on-demand checks on paid plans.

Methodology note: both columns describe what each company publishes, not measured accuracy, answer quality or results. Prime AI Visibility is our own product and is held to the same checks, with the limitations listed below. The AI visibility tools comparison sets Profound beside Peec AI and Otterly.AI on pricing and cadence.

Who Profound fits, and who it may not

Likely fit:

  • Enterprise brands that want answer tracking, prompt demand data and AI referral analytics in one contract.
  • Large agencies managing many brands that can use Agency Mode's pitch and brand environments.
  • Teams that want agents to draft and stage content, social posts and corrections for human approval.
  • Retailers that need ChatGPT Shopping visibility.

Weaker fit:

  • Teams that need a published price, or a monthly self-serve plan.
  • Buyers who want to evaluate month-over-month trends before signing, since the trial has no history.
  • Teams that only need answer evidence and do not plan to use agents, which may pay for capacity they will not use.

For a wider shortlist judged on the same kind of evidence, see our guide to AI visibility tools for B2B companies. The guide on how to choose an AI visibility tool covers the wider evaluation axes, and agencies can compare Profound with five other tools in our brand visibility ranker for marketing agencies.

Where Prime AI Visibility fits

Prime AI Visibility is an AI visibility tracker for teams that want to ask a smaller set of saved buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview, then read every saved answer with the links it showed. It reports Brand named, Website cited, Source links and Explicit recommendation, defined on the metrics page.

The Prime AI Visibility features include an AI Search Predictor that finds questions worth pursuing and a Content Studio that drafts source-enriched pages and exports them as files, with nothing published without approval. Flash is free each month for five questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, with up to 15 answers and no card. Starter is $69 a month and the Agency plan is $369 a month with 10 client workspaces; the pricing page lists every plan.

Limitations: Prime AI Visibility does not report sentiment, rank, AI crawler visits, traffic or conversions, so referral and conversion data must come from your analytics. Its plans are sized for a smaller saved question set checked monthly or weekly, not daily tracking at enterprise volume. It does not track Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek or Google AI Mode, and it does not publish content or run agents across social or paid channels.

When the next job is implementation

An AI visibility tool, whether Profound or another, shows where a brand stands. Earning coverage on the sources answers cite is separate work. As an AI Visibility Platform for in-house teams, Prime AI Visibility stops at measurement, recommendations and draft files.

If you need people to do the work, Percepture, founded in 2004 and Inc. 5000-recognized, offers generative engine optimization services and digital PR within its wider digital marketing and PR services. Fit: a team that wants earned media and content work aimed at the sources AI answers cite, done by people. Limitation: Percepture is a services firm, not software, so it does not replace a tracking platform like Profound or Prime AI Visibility. Prime AI Visibility has a commercial relationship with Percepture.

Teams with a large content backlog can also look at Pyra's AI agents for marketing and sales, which include human-approved content operations agents. Pyra's AI visibility case study describes an anonymized digital-infrastructure company with more than 35 years in business and reports a 3,000% increase in AI and LLM visibility signals. That is Pyra's published client result, not a benchmark to expect.

Whichever tool you choose, an AI Search Visibility Platform or an AI Brand Visibility Tool is only useful if it keeps the same questions from one report to the next, so changes are comparable.
