Hotwire GAIO.tech Prompt Volume: What Spark Reports and What to Ask

On Hotwire GAIO.tech prompt volume, the short answer is that Hotwire's public Spark pages list no prompt-volume metric. GAIO.tech is now Hotwire Spark, a managed report in which Hotwire's strategists help you choose the queries, competitors and positioning to track. Prompt volume, an estimate of how often a question is asked, is a separate kind of data that some vendors sell.
This explainer uses Hotwire's own Spark and AI Lab pages as they read on October 22, 2026, and compares public statements, not product performance. Prime AI Visibility publishes this site and does not report prompt volume either, and its own limits appear near the end.
Hotwire GAIO.tech prompt volume: the short answer
- The product: GAIO.tech is the former name of Hotwire Spark. The gaio.tech address now redirects to Hotwire's AI Lab page, and Spark has its own site at hotwirespark.com.
- What Spark says it reports: how often a brand is mentioned, the context around it, which competitors appear alongside it, and which sources and webpages AI engines cite.
- How queries are chosen: Spark's FAQ says Hotwire's strategists "guide you through input selection" and help identify high-value search queries and priority competitors.
- Prompt volume: the Spark page, its FAQ and the AI Lab page list no prompt-volume figure or demand estimate among the report contents.
- What that means: for Spark, the query list is an input chosen with a strategist, not a ranked list of demand. Ask in the demo whether any volume or demand data is included.
What is prompt volume in AI visibility?
Prompt volume is an estimate of how often people ask an AI engine a given question or a group of related questions. It is the AI-answer counterpart of search volume, and it exists to help a team decide which questions are worth tracking first.
Vendors build it differently, and the source of the data is the first thing to ask about. Profound's Prompt Volumes page describes keyword data "pulled from millions of conversations in answer engines" and lets you group terms, filter by platform and demographic and classify intent. That is Profound's description of its own data, and it is not a figure this article can verify. Our Conductor vs Profound comparison covers Profound's plans and notes that its free Trial includes five Prompt Volumes searches.
Search volume from a keyword tool, such as a monthly count for "best CRM for small teams", is a different thing. It measures searches on a search engine, and it is not an estimate of questions asked in ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity. Treat any vendor's prompt-volume number as that vendor's estimate until its method is shown.
What does Hotwire Spark publish about how queries are chosen?
Hotwire's Spark page describes the product as a managed service. Its team generates reports on your behalf and provides secure access through a unique link, with PDF downloads and CSV data exports. The FAQ says strategists guide input selection so reports capture relevant insights, and that they help identify "high-value search queries, priority competitors, and key positioning opportunities".
Three points follow from those statements.
- The query list is an input. You and a Hotwire strategist decide it, and the report then shows how the brand appears for those queries.
- The selection method is not described. The pages checked do not say whether a strategist uses search data, sales questions, interviews or something else.
- Prices are per report. The FAQ says Spark is priced per report, with volume-based reductions for multiple reports or ongoing monitoring, and offers complimentary demo sessions with a sample report rather than a free trial.
Our earlier Hotwire GAIO.tech AI visibility metrics review covers what Spark measures, and Profound vs Hotwire GAIO.tech sets it against a self-serve platform.
How do the two query-selection models compare?
| Question | Strategist-chosen | Volume-ranked |
|---|---|---|
| Who picks the queries? | You and a strategist | You, guided by data |
| What backs the choice? | Judgement and inputs | A vendor estimate |
| What to verify | The selection method | The data source |
Neither model is better in general. A strategist-chosen list can reflect what a sales team hears from buyers, and a volume-ranked list can surface questions a team would not think of. In our judgement, the risk with the first is an unexamined list and the risk with the second is trusting an estimate whose method is hidden.
What should you ask Hotwire about prompt volume?
Bring these questions to a Spark demo.
- Is any demand or volume data included in a report, and where does it come from?
- How are the queries chosen, and can you see the list and the reasoning before the report runs?
- How many times is each query run, on which engines, and is it the consumer app or an API?
- Can you rerun the same list later, in a new report, and compare it with the first?
- What is in the CSV export: the answers, the citations or only summary counts?
- How is ongoing monitoring priced when the query list changes?
The sample report in a demo is a better test than a sales description. Ask to see how a mention and a citation are shown separately.
How do mention, citation, recommendation, referral and conversion fit in?
Prompt volume is not an outcome measure. It says how often a question may be asked, and it says nothing about what an answer did with your brand. Keep these separate:
- Mention. The answer names your brand.
- Citation. The answer links your site or a source about you.
- Recommendation. The answer explicitly suggests your brand.
- Referral. Someone clicks through.
- Conversion. The visit becomes a lead or sale.
Spark's pages describe mention and citation reporting. They do not describe referral or conversion tracking, which a team measures in its own analytics. A high-volume question where your brand is absent from answers is a gap, while a low-volume question where it is named may still matter to a buyer with a narrow need.
How can you build a prompt list without volume data?
A team can choose questions from its own evidence before it buys anything.
- Collect real questions. Pull the exact wording from sales calls, support tickets and site search.
- Sort them by stage. Label each as awareness, comparison or purchase. A buyer asking "what is" is at a different stage from one asking "X vs Y".
- Remove your brand name from awareness and comparison questions, so the answer shows whether the brand is named unprompted.
- Freeze the wording. Changing a word creates a new question.
- Run each question the same way on each engine, with the same market and persona, and save the answer text and links.
- Annotate each saved answer with four facts: brand named, link cited, tone words and whether a genuine recommendation was made.
A short annotation grid keeps those facts apart:
| Saved answer | Brand named | Link cited |
|---|---|---|
| Question 1 | Yes or no | Yes or no |
| Question 2 | Yes or no | Yes or no |
| Question 3 | Yes or no | Yes or no |
Add two columns in your own sheet for tone and explicit recommendation. This is a protocol, not a result, and the grid is blank on purpose.
The ambiguous case is the one to plan for. An answer that says a product is "capable, but better suited to larger teams" names the brand and may cite it, yet it is neither clearly positive nor clearly negative. Record the exact wording, mark the tone as mixed and do not convert it to a score. A number such as 62 out of 100 for that sentence would imply a precision the sentence does not have.
Google's SEO Starter Guide is the baseline reference for making pages understandable to people and to Google Search, including clear titles and helpful content. It does not describe how ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity choose sources or how often questions are asked, so it cannot settle a prompt-volume question. Our AI visibility audit process walks through the baseline step.
Where does Prime AI fit?
Prime AI Visibility is an AI Visibility Platform and AI visibility tracker built around saved answers, and it has a commercial relationship with Percepture. You write the questions, and it records Brand named, Website cited, Source links and Explicit recommendation as separate facts for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview built from Google-grounded answers. The features page also describes Content Studio, which produces researched, editable content with optional images and export files, and nothing publishes without approval.
The free Flash plan runs five questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, up to 15 answers, one check a month and no card. Starter is $69 a month for all five engines, and the pricing page lists every plan. Prime AI does not report prompt volume or demand estimates, sentiment, rank, crawler visits or traffic, has no managed service and does not track Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI or Google AI Mode.
A free AI visibility checker run on five questions you chose gives you saved answers to hold against any vendor's sample report. Teams comparing an AI Search Visibility Platform with a managed report can use an AI Brand Visibility Tool for the weekly rerun and keep the strategist for the programme work. The buyer guide to choosing tools lists what to ask any vendor.
When is the next job implementation?
Choosing questions is the start. Fixing absent answers usually means pages, sources and listings, and Percepture offers generative engine optimization services for that hands-on work. It is a services firm, not a tracker, so it pairs with a tool.
To see how a focused public site frames a vertical question set, take Pulse Terminal, an investing research site. Its homepage describes a framework for grading stocks and ETFs, and it has a dedicated stocks page. This is an illustrative page-structure comparison, not a result for any vendor in this article. Questions about how a stock is graded are specific to that vertical, which is why a software buyer's list should come from its own sales calls.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hotwire GAIO.tech report prompt volume?
Hotwire's Spark page, FAQ and AI Lab page, as they read on October 22, 2026, list no prompt-volume metric. They describe mention, context, competitor and source reporting, with queries chosen alongside a Hotwire strategist. Ask Hotwire in a demo whether any demand data is included.
Is GAIO.tech the same as Hotwire Spark?
Yes. Hotwire's March 2025 release calls the tool Hotwire Spark, formerly known as GAIO.tech, and the gaio.tech address now redirects to Hotwire's AI Lab page. GAIO Tech at gaiotech.ai is a separate company.
What is prompt volume in AI visibility?
It is a vendor's estimate of how often people ask an AI engine a question or topic, used to decide which questions to track first. Methods differ, so ask where a vendor's data comes from before relying on it.
How does Hotwire Spark choose which queries to track?
Its FAQ says strategists guide input selection and help identify high-value search queries, priority competitors and positioning opportunities. The method behind that selection is not described.
How much does Hotwire Spark cost?
Its FAQ says Spark is priced per report, with volume-based reductions for multiple reports or ongoing monitoring, and it lists no price or free trial. It offers demo sessions with a sample report.
Can you track AI visibility without prompt volume data?
Yes. A team can write questions from sales calls and support tickets, freeze the wording, run each one the same way and save the answers with their links. Prompt volume only helps rank which questions to try first.
